TACO Metals is looking for a driven Quality Control Technician to join our Sparta team and play a key role in maintaining and improving product quality across our operations.
As a Quality Control Technician, you’ll collaborate cross-functionally to ensure quality standards are established, maintained, and consistently followed. You’ll be a technical resource within our Quality team—supporting inspections, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections, testing, measurements, and evaluations of manufactured products to engineering and customer specifications
- Identify and document nonconforming products; place items on hold and escalate concerns for review and disposition
- Collect data and participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities
- Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation within company systems
- Communicate findings, trends, and improvement recommendations to management
- Support internal and external quality inquiries as directed
- Prepare and present reports summarizing quality activities and results
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Experience & Knowledge
- Minimum 2 years of Quality Control experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality control methods
- Experience collecting and analyzing inspection data
- Strong blueprint reading skills and manufacturing/inspection-related math skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
Hands-on experience with inspection and measuring tools, including:
- Calipers
- Micrometers
- Height gages
- Surface plates
- Bore gauges
- Dial indicators
- Radius gages
- Protractors
- Profilometers
- Strong logical reasoning and problem-solving abilities
- High attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Combination of desk work and time on the manufacturing floor
- Continuous interaction with team members across departments
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, stoop, and crouch for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to operate material handling equipment (forklift experience is a plus)
- Visual acuity for reading blueprints, analyzing data, and performing detailed inspections
