TACO Metals is looking for a driven Quality Control Technician to join our Sparta team and play a key role in maintaining and improving product quality across our operations.

What You’ll Do
As a Quality Control Technician, you’ll collaborate cross-functionally to ensure quality standards are established, maintained, and consistently followed. You’ll be a technical resource within our Quality team—supporting inspections, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspections, testing, measurements, and evaluations of manufactured products to engineering and customer specifications
  • Identify and document nonconforming products; place items on hold and escalate concerns for review and disposition
  • Collect data and participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation within company systems
  • Communicate findings, trends, and improvement recommendations to management
  • Support internal and external quality inquiries as directed
  • Prepare and present reports summarizing quality activities and results
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
You’ll provide data-driven insights to support decision-making while working closely with Quality leadership and other departments.

What We’re Looking For
Experience & Knowledge
  • Minimum 2 years of Quality Control experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality control methods
  • Experience collecting and analyzing inspection data
  • Strong blueprint reading skills and manufacturing/inspection-related math skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
Technical Skills
Hands-on experience with inspection and measuring tools, including:
  • Calipers
  • Micrometers
  • Height gages
  • Surface plates
  • Bore gauges
  • Dial indicators
  • Radius gages
  • Protractors
  • Profilometers
Soft Skills
  • Strong logical reasoning and problem-solving abilities
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Combination of desk work and time on the manufacturing floor
  • Continuous interaction with team members across departments
  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, stoop, and crouch for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment (forklift experience is a plus)
  • Visual acuity for reading blueprints, analyzing data, and performing detailed inspections
