TACO Metals is looking for a hands-on Production Lead who enjoys working alongside a team, solving problems, and keeping production moving forward.
In this role, you will help lead daily manufacturing activities while actively participating in assembly, fabrication, sewing, and upholstery work. You will serve as a trusted resource for production employees, help maintain quality and safety standards, and support continuous improvement throughout the department.

What You’ll Do
- Lead and participate in daily production activities, including assembly, fabrication, sewing, and upholstery.
- Help coordinate work assignments, parts availability, supplies, and production priorities.
- Monitor production progress and help the team meet daily schedule and output targets.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and constructive feedback to production employees.
- Conduct periodic audits to ensure manufacturing practices meet quality and process standards.
- Identify workflow challenges and recommend practical improvements.
- Support 5S, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Help develop and maintain procedures, checklists, and work instructions.
- Assist with onboarding and cross-training new hires and temporary employees.
- Maintain the department’s cross-training matrix and help ensure staffing flexibility.
- Lead daily shift start-up meetings.
- Promote a safe, organized, and productive work environment.
- Step in wherever needed to support the team and accomplish production goals.
What You Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree or vocational training preferred.
- At least two years of relevant manufacturing or production experience.
- Previous experience providing team leadership, training, or work direction.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to balance hands-on production work with leadership responsibilities.
- Experience with sewing, upholstery, fabrication, or assembly preferred.
- Marine seating manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
- Bilingual English and Spanish skills are a plus.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
This position works in an active manufacturing environment and requires:
- Standing and walking throughout the entire shift on a concrete floor.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and movement throughout the production area.
- The ability to repetitively lift up to 50 pounds overhead, with or without assistance.
- The use of required personal protective equipment.
- The ability to work around moving mechanical parts, dust, ink, solvents, vapors, and moderate noise.
- Close, distance, peripheral, and depth vision, as well as the ability to adjust focus.
